I finally picked up the pencil! And pen! And watercolor! Here is my new pinhole camera. I’ve been carrying it around with me this week.
While I was waiting for water to boil I sketched the ingredients for my dinner. It made the time pass quickly. I made Ponzu-Tahini Soba salad and it was delicious.
OK. I have decided to draw something every single day, no matter what. I have something to do after work today so I am not going to have time to draw this evening in my “Things In My House” sketchbook. So I brought an empty Traveler’s Notebook journal with me to tuck inside my notebook….
Feeling a little rusty but it feels good to draw again.
I have all sorts of criticism about this but I’ll just post without comment.
I’ve been in a major drawing slump and haven’t picked up a pencil in days and it’s made me sad. So today I searched for things I can do to get out of my slump. One suggestion was to give an entire sketchbook a theme. As luck would have it, I’m starting a new sketchbook….

Today I thought I’d draw something from life: the camera I played with today.
Apparently it’s is Inktober – which is fantastic because I’m in am inky mood! Here is another photograph I vector-ized to help me see the various shades of gray. I used a Pentel Pocket brush pen and sumi-e ink stick.
